Statement of Clarification on “Cash for Citations” |
|||||||
The Editorial Team of International Journal of Bioprinting is in receipt of inquiries about offering cash for researchers who cite our journal articles. This has been mentioned in a recent post on Retraction Watch that goes with the subject line “Publisher offers cash for citations.” For the avoidance of any possible misunderstanding, the Publisher and Editorial Team hereby clarify that none of the in-house editors and members of editorial board have committed ourselves in gaming the metrics so as to increase the journal article citations. We do not and never agree, accept and allow such unorthodox and nonstandard practice when it comes to increasing the journal impact. For that reason, International Journal of Bioprinting will not entertain cash requests from the individuals who claim to have cited our articles, nor shall we pay up. We would also like to clarify that our editorial decisions in submissions, selection of editorial board members, and integrity of articles are not affected by the affiliated commercial entities.

Switching to Manuscript Central Online Submission System |
|||||||
Starting September 2021, International Journal of Bioprinting (IJB) will be using dual online submission systems until clearing all items in the OJS system, i.e., Manuscript CentralTM and OJS online submission systems. Authors are advised to make new submissions via the new submission system – Manuscript CentralTM. All subsequent revisions for papers submitted via this new system will be handled entirely on the same system. The existing submissions will be handled in the current OJS system until a final editorial decision is made. In other words, subsequent revisions for these papers need to be submitted via the same OJS system. Authors who want to submit to Special Issue/Special Section titled 3D Printing and Bioprinting for the Future of Healthcare should make new submissions via the OJS portal. Any irrelevant new submissions made through the OJS system will be removed, and the authors are advised to submit them via the Manuscript CentralTM portal. Go to Online Submission and choose the correct portal for making submissions:
The application of the dual online submission system will continue for a couple of months, and we will switch to using Manuscript CentralTM completely upon clearing all items in the OJS system. Thank you. |

Authors who submit their papers for publication by International Journal of Bioprinting agree to have the CC BY 4.0 license applied to their work, and that anyone is allowed to reuse the article or part of it free of charge for any purpose, including commercial use. As long as the author and original source is properly cited, anyone may copy, redistribute, reuse and transform the content. In order to fully implement Whioce Publishing’s Open Access policy, the Publisher decides to replace the original Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC 4.0) with the commercial CC BY 4.0 license to ensure that the article content can be mined for research without barriers and allow greater freedom in re-using the article content. |
